The New Creme Elastine & Creme Collagene

The New Creme Elastine & Creme Collagene

When this Holiday season began (with all the stressors the pandemic has once again graced us with), I found myself making double-takes each time I passed in front of a mirror. It could have been my out-of-style wardrobe, but I mostly focussed on my complexion and wondered: how was all this frenzy around me affecting my skin? Why is it I felt more and more dreary each day, inside and out?

Why is it I felt like my usual rosy and smooth skin had changed (and not for the best)? I found I had greyish, tired tones, and I had spotted those dreaded first signs of ageing. Could I do anything about this?

Sure, health gurus could tell me to adopt even healthier eating habits (yes, I am transitioning into the vegan trend), exercise more, but I didn't feel like I was necessarily lacking in these domains. That’s when I thought about my everyday skincare routine: maybe it wasn’t giving my skin the nutrients it needed. So, then, what could the solution be? Did I need to do a mask? Was that the key to improving my skin? Or should I use an extra hydrating serum? What could be this year’s game-changer for me?

Having doubts about what could be this “miracle product”, I volunteered to be the first member on the EB Team to try our new anti-ageing creams with highly visible results: the Crème Elastine and the Crème Collagène.

Though I was determined to try both creams, I was told that the Crème Collagène would not suit my skin type. The Crème Elastine being suitable for normal to dry skin, and the Crème Collagène for combination to oily skin, I decided to go with the Crème Elastine, and have a colleague of mine, with an oily complexion, test the Crème Collagène.

Crème Elastine: A Preventative Super Cream

Younger, when retinol was all the hype in preventing wrinkles and fine lines, I didn’t understand why we wouldn’t all simply use from a young age on the most potent active anti-ageing creams available. Wasn’t it a no-brainer that we bypass all stages of anti-ageing creams and use right away the ones with the most powerful ingredients? However, to my disarray, I discovered soon after using such strong products that my skin was becoming inflamed and patchy. I continued with milder forms of retinol, but they seemed to continue to irritate my fragile skin. Since then and over the years, I have been searching for a cream that could encourage wrinkle-free skin, all the while being gentle.Creme Elastin

Crème Elastine has proven to be that gem I was searching for and I will detail below the three main ingredients that are pillars of its effectiveness.

The Yeast: radiate!

The first thing you notice when you open the pot of Crème Elastine is the colour of its content. The light brownish hue of the cream is due to its yeast content. Yeast is a sought out natural and active ingredient that is detoxifying, purifying and anti-bacterial. Yeast is made of mineral salts, carbohydrates, lipids and vitamins (such as vitamin B) and promotes the healing of the skin. Furthermore, yeast stimulates phagocytosis and the formation of lysosomes in the keratinocytes, thereby providing a detoxifying action at a cellular level that improves the radiance and the transparency of the skin…what more could I ask for?

Hyaluronic Acid and Rhizobium complex: pack on the hydration

Throughout the years, the words “hyaluronic acid” seemed to be on the tip of every beauty aficionado’s tongue. Slowly, it no longer was considered the beauty secret for the elite but became a mainstream ingredient in everyone’s anti-ageing skincare routine. The Crème Elastine differs from its counterparts by taking hyaluronic acid to the next level. It associates it with a nitrogen providing bacteria: rhizobium. By itself, the rhizobium creates a supple and protective film over the skin, all the while regulating perspiration. However, combining both hyaluronic acid and rhizobium creates a complex with a higher molecular weight, thus allowing the hyaluronic acid to remain longer on the surface of the skin. This enhances the skin’s barrier function against harsh external factors and keeps water in the superficial layers of the epidermis, ensuring a hydrating cream. What a truly great complex!

Elastin: the anti-ageing secret ingredient

The real game-changer in the Crème Elastine is eponymous to its name: the elastin segment. This specially formulated ingredient is a “spring fragment”, the longest and most repeated in the “elastin” molecule (which is a key protein). This elastin segment is composed of the same sequence of amino acids as elastin and it stimulates fibroblast, which strengthens, repairs and restructures damaged tissues. Thus, the skin’s elasticity and tone are enhanced, providing a true anti-wrinkle effect. The skin becomes suppler, features are smoother, and you can say goodbye to that sad and tired look that can be caused by signs of ageing! By providing an anti-wrinkle effect, the skin is visibly brighter and smoother, and its youthfulness is preserved. Finally, its unique texture mimics the skin’s structure to boost its hydration without leaving any occlusive oily film.

Final verdict

As a rule of thumb, you need to use a product for at least 50 days to see results. Though I used my Crème Elastine for more than 50 days, all along my journey, I was delighted to see my skin improve. It felt much more supple, and I knew that my skin was incredibly well-looked after, nourished and protected. The gel-type texture was also so comforting, and the cream could easily be used day and night. I cannot imagine myself going back to “basics”, and I will be sure to have my Crème Elastine adorning my bathroom shelf for years to come.

Crème Collagène: let’s get plump! (the healthy kind)

Living in London, external factors such as pollution (our notorious smog!), stress and all types of radiation, have been greatly affecting my colleague’s skin. He often complains that he feels like his skin is dried out and less toned than it has been in the past. He refers to his skin as having a “somewhat flat complexion” and would be grateful to find a cream to solve this problem. However, throughout the years, he has encountered two main obstacles in uncovering that perfect cream.

 Creme Collagene

First, there are a plethora of brands out there offering a “wonder potion” for the face. They all seem to promise to “lift, tighten and firm” the skin on the face in no time.

Second, having naturally oily skin, my colleague wants to ensure it receives the moisture it deserves, without making his face look greasy (or worse, causing breakouts!). For these reasons, we decided that he embark on his 50-day skin transformation journey with Crème Collagène. Pledging to bring hydration and tightness back to oily prone skin, Crème Collagène was the perfect product for him to test first-hand. Below, are the key elements behind the sure-to-become cult Crème Collagène.

Yeast, Vitamin B3 & NMF’s: working together to bring the moisture back

While describing the Crème Elastine, I mentioned yeast as one of the cream’s most important and intricate components. As a reminder, yeast is made up of mineral salts, carbohydrates, lipids and vitamins, giving it many beneficial properties for the skin. So let’s delve into one of those elements: the infamous vitamin B3. This highly nutritive vitamin stimulates cellular renewal and the synthesis of keratin.

We’ve all heard about the incredible benefits of keratin on dull and damaged hair, right? Well, the same goes for how keratin affects the skin: it visibly improves the signs of ageing.

Though this is considered a way to repair already age-damaged skin, vitamin B3 has a preventative facet as well. Indeed, vitamin B3 contains antioxidant properties that protect the skin from photo-ageing. Another reason explaining the moisturising properties behind the Crème Collagène is the presence of Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMF). These elements (such as pyrrolidone carboxylic acid, amino acids, lactates, urea, and a variety of sugars) have a close affinity with water, helping to capture it and guarantee the effective hydration of the upper layers of the epidermis. In a nutshell, NMF’s act like a “sponge”, absorbing water and responding perfectly to the needs of dehydrated skin. In all, yeast, the vitamin B3 it contains and the NMF’s all work together within the Crème Collagène to prevent the signs of ageing and to repair any signs of ageing that have already appeared.

Collagen: improving the skin’s architecture

Now for the fun part: the “collagen segment”. In simple terms (because I’m the first to need things broken down in simple terms!), the Crème Collagène contains collagen that is absorbed by the dermis (the middle layer of the skin). This in turn stimulates fibroblasts (cells found in connective tissues), which strengthen, repair and restructures damaged tissues but also boost the production of more collagen. A double whammy am I right? This process contributes to the restructuration and thickening of the skin, all the while improving elasticity, firmness and hydration. The collagen segment and fibroblasts help restore the outer layer of the skin that has been damaged by age, sun or other environmental factors. The skin becomes smoother and softer, and wrinkles are minimized.

Final verdict:

The first thing my colleague told me after 50 days of using the Crème Collagène, is that he looked and felt radiant. His complexion had indeed been beautified, and the wear and tear of the London lifestyle seemed to have been turned around. His biggest worry having been the fear of moisturizing oily prone skin, he was extremely relieved to see that his skin was not greasy, had been clearly re-densified and was looking younger day by day.

The world of anti-ageing skincare is in constant evolution, and it can be overwhelming at times to know how to choose and what to choose. At EB, we vow to orient our clients towards the best products suitable for their skin and their unique needs.

Crème Elastine and Crème Collagène are no doubt going to become staples in my, and my colleagues’, skincare routines, and hopefully, will be exactly what some of you have been searching for all along!
