The Benefits

Hydrating

Hydration is all about the water content in your skin that keeps it supple and healthy. Humectants, ingredients with water-binding properties, deliver this hydration by attracting water molecules from the atmosphere. For the best results, apply hydrating serums right after a shower. Humectants not only replenish your skin's hydration but also enhance its water retention, creating a long-lasting hydration reservoir. Adding humectants like hyaluronic acid to your routine will restore your skin's healthy glow, minimize fine lines, and provide a plumping effect.

Firming

Skin firming focuses on boosting your skin's elasticity and tightness to reduce sagging and wrinkles, leaving your skin looking firmer. This is done by stimulating fibroblasts to produce more elastin, the protein that helps your skin stretch and bounce back. To keep your skin firm longer, antioxidants protect these elastin fibres from free radical damage, which can cause early breakdown. This combined action helps maintain a youthful, resilient complexion.

Plumping

Skin plumping involves using active ingredients to boost the production of key structural components like collagen, the dermal-epidermal junction, and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), giving your skin more volume and density. Collagen provides structural support and firmness, while the dermal-epidermal junction, a thin connective layer, ensures smooth, wrinkle-free skin by facilitating cell communication. GAGs, like hyaluronic acid, keep your skin hydrated and plump from within. By stimulating these components, active ingredients help restore your skin's plumpness and radiance.

Anti-Wrinkle

Anti-wrinkle products work to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles by boosting collagen and elastin, essential proteins that keep your skin glowing. Collagen helps reduce wrinkle depth, while elastin shortens their length. Keeping your skin hydrated is crucial, as dehydration can make wrinkles more noticeable. For smooth, bouncy skin, ensure you stay well-hydrated and use products that promote collagen and elastin production.

Anti-Ageing (Senescence)

The advancement in anti-ageing skincare now enables us to combat cellular senescence—a state where cells stop dividing but remain metabolically active, continuing processes like protein synthesis. This means that while these cells no longer contribute to tissue renewal, they still engage in metabolic activities, producing proteins and other molecules that can affect the surrounding tissue. Skin senescence is triggered by factors such as stress, poor diet, lack of sleep, DNA damage, inflammation, and genetic predisposition. Over time, the accumulation of these senescent cells accelerates ageing by secreting harmful compounds that cause inflammation and damage surrounding tissues and cells. Innovative technologies in anti-ageing skincare can now target cellular senescence using advanced actives to inhibit senescence-associated markers and promote cell regeneration. By regenerating skin cells, these products reduce visible signs of ageing, such as wrinkles, sagging, and discoloration, while enhancing skin resilience and overall health.

Antioxidant

Antioxidant Protection shields your skin and preserves its youthful glow. It refers to a defence system that protects against harmful molecules and keeps your complexion healthy and radiant. Free radicals, those incredibly reactive molecules, come from everyday sources like sunlight, diet, smoking, and pollution. They attack healthy cells, accelerating skin ageing, causing wrinkles, loss of firmness, pigmentation, and dullness.

Incorporating antioxidants, such as vitamins C and E, into your skincare routine creates a protective shield on your skin. These powerful ingredients neutralise free radicals, preventing them from causing damage. The result is skin that stays youthful, firm, and luminous.

Skin Barrier Strengthening

Strengthening your skin barrier involves replenishing the key elements in the top layer of your skin (stratum corneum), leading to a stronger and healthier barrier. These essential elements include lipids (ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol) and Natural Moisturizing Factors (amino acids, hyaluronic acid, etc.). Various factors, such as incorrect skincare use, seasonal changes, and aesthetic treatments, can damage your skin barrier. When this happens, your skin loses excess water through Trans Epidermal Water Loss (T.E.W.L) and becomes less capable of defending against environmental stressors, resulting in dryness, sensitivity, and irritation.

A healthy skin barrier is crucial for overall skin health as it helps prevent hydration loss, protects against environmental damage, and reduces the risk of skin conditions like eczema and acne. By strengthening your skin barrier, you ensure your skin remains well-hydrated, resilient, and protected.

Softening

Skin softening transforms rough, dry, and uneven skin into a smoother, softer complexion by boosting hydration and nourishment. Increased hydration restores your skin's suppleness, while nourishing actives like lipids strengthen the skin barrier, smoothing out the dry surface and enhancing moisture retention. The result is silky soft, revitalised skin that looks and feels wonderfully smooth.

Active Ingredients

Vegetable DNA

Vegetable DNA, extracted from wheat germ, has a high molecular weight that forms a protective film on the skin, locking in hydration. Antioxidant rich extracts also shield the skin from cell-damageing environmental free radicals.

Grape juice extract enriched with ?-viniferin

?-viniferin is a polyphenol compound found in certain fungi that grow on grapes. It is known for its potent antioxidant properties, similar to resveratrol, another compound found in grapes. Antioxidants like ?-viniferin help protect skin cells from damage caused by free radicals and environmental stressors, thereby preventing premature ageing.

In addition to its antioxidant effects, ?-viniferin also stimulates collagen production in the skin. Collagen is a protein essential for skin structure, helping to maintain firmness, elasticity, and smoothness. By promoting collagen synthesis, ?-viniferin contributes to reducing the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while enhancing skin firmness and overall plumpness.

Silk Protein

Silk, composed of Glycoprotein Polymers, forms a film on the skin's surface, delivering an immediate smoothing effect. It also provides nourishing, firming, and softening benefits for the skin.

Prickly Pear Cactus Extract

Prickly Pear Cactus Extract has strong water retention capabilities which have powerful nourishing benefits and therefore are extremely effective at combatting dry skin. Moreover, its piscidic acid content is adept at protecting the skin from oxidative stress, preventing premature cutaneous ageing. Lastly, it contains soothing benefits as it blocks stress markers in the skins' sensory nerve cells, which calms the skin.
