The Benefits

Complexion-Evening (Anti-Blotchiness)

Evening skin tone is all about reducing blotchiness and achieving a more uniform complexion. Skincare products designed for this purpose use a blend of active ingredients, including soothing agents, anti-pigmentation compounds, antioxidants, and skin-restoring elements. These ingredients work together to diminish redness, inflammation, and pigment irregularities caused by inflammation, while also strengthening and protecting your skin against environmental irritants and future damage. This promotes healing and resilience, leaving your skin more balanced, radiant, and beautiful.

Anti-PIH (Post-Inflammatory Pigmentation)

Anti-PIH treatments target Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH), which shows up as dark marks after inflammation or injury, like acne. These skincare products help heal the skin, reduce inflammation, and promote regeneration while blocking melanin production. This helps fade and prevent dark marks effectively.

Pore Tightening & Minimising

Pore minimising involves reducing the appearance of enlarged pores. Enlarged pores often result from excess oil production and accumulated impurities, which stretch them over time. ageing also plays a role, as reduced skin elasticity makes pores more visible. Pore-minimising formulas tackle these issues by regulating oil production and boosting collagen and elastin to enhance skin elasticity. This helps pores return to their natural, less noticeable shape, giving your skin a smoother, more refined look.

Chemical Exfoliation

Chemical exfoliation uses acids to dissolve the "glue" holding dead skin cells together, promoting skin cell turnover and replacing old cells with new, healthy ones. Acids like AHAs, BHAs, and PHAs not only help shed skin but also offer benefits like brightening, clarifying, and anti-ageing, depending on the type used.

Sebum Regulating (Mattifying)

Sebum regulation involves normalising oil production in your sebaceous glands to reduce shine, oiliness, and breakouts, restoring your skin's natural balance. Overactive sebaceous glands can be triggered by internal factors like genetics, hormonal changes, and stress, as well as external factors such as climate, pollution, and diet. Excessive sebum production can lead to enlarged pores, acne, and an oily, shiny appearance. Effective sebum regulation means using skincare products that balance oil levels without over-drying your skin, helping you achieve a clearer, more matte complexion.

Skin Renewing

Skin renewing, or skin cell turnover, is the process where old, dead skin cells are shed and replaced by new ones. In our early 20s, this cycle takes about 25-28 days. However, as we age and face external factors like sun exposure and pollution, this process slows down, leading to uneven skin tone and texture, congestion, dullness, flakiness, and wrinkles. Actives like retinoids (Vitamin A) and exfoliating acids can speed up this process, while proper hydration supports the skin's natural shedding, triggering the renewal cycle. By promoting skin cell turnover, your skin becomes smoother, brighter, clearer, and more youthful-looking.

Plumping

Skin plumping involves using active ingredients to boost the production of key structural components like collagen, the dermal-epidermal junction, and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), giving your skin more volume and density. Collagen provides structural support and firmness, while the dermal-epidermal junction, a thin connective layer, ensures smooth, wrinkle-free skin by facilitating cell communication. GAGs, like hyaluronic acid, keep your skin hydrated and plump from within. By stimulating these components, active ingredients help restore your skin's plumpness and radiance.

Anti-Wrinkle

Anti-wrinkle products work to smooth out fine lines and wrinkles by boosting collagen and elastin, essential proteins that keep your skin glowing. Collagen helps reduce wrinkle depth, while elastin shortens their length. Keeping your skin hydrated is crucial, as dehydration can make wrinkles more noticeable. For smooth, bouncy skin, ensure you stay well-hydrated and use products that promote collagen and elastin production.

Hydrating

Hydration is all about the water content in your skin that keeps it supple and healthy. Humectants, ingredients with water-binding properties, deliver this hydration by attracting water molecules from the atmosphere. For the best results, apply hydrating serums right after a shower. Humectants not only replenish your skin's hydration but also enhance its water retention, creating a long-lasting hydration reservoir. Adding humectants like hyaluronic acid to your routine will restore your skin's healthy glow, minimize fine lines, and provide a plumping effect.

Active Ingredients

Auteur Hyaluronic Complex

Auteur's supercharged Hyaluronic Complex includes 5 different molecular weights of Hyalurons ranging from ultra-low too high for and instant boost of hydration, increased skin firmness and elasticity and long-lasting plumping results.

Auteur Hyaluronic Complex includes:

Cross-linked Hyaluronic Acid or Sodium Hyaluronate Crosspolymer, forms a three-dimensional mesh-like structure on the skin's surface. This unique structure acts as a breathable hydration barrier, helping to increase water retention by blocking trans epidermal water loss (TEWL). Cross-linked hyaluronic acid also has wrinkle-filling and skin-softening effect.

Medium Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid or Sodium Acetylated Hyaluronate (70-1,000 kDa?), occupies a unique position between high and low molecular weight hyaluronic acids, boosting skin hydration in the middle layers of the skin. It complements and enhances hydrating plumping results from famous Low and High Hyaluronic Acids, giving the skin even more suppleness and volume. It's in particularly good for those who have hollow faces due to density loss.

Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid or Sodium Hyaluronate, is a salt for derived from naturally occurring hyaluronic acid. Sodium hyaluronate has a low molecular size (<70 kDa), which allows it to penetrate the skin deeper and more effectively. Sodium hyaluronate has superior hydrating and skin-plumping benefits. Increased skin hydration also contributes to efficient desquamation, supporting the skin's natural renewal cycle.

Ultra-Low Molecular Weight? or Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic Acid? (<10 kDa), penetrates the skin the faster and the deepest compared to other forms. This provide ultra hydrating and plumping results. Additionally it can enhance collagen and elastin synthesis by stimulating fibroblast activity, resulting in firmer, denser and smoother looking skin.

X50®  Skin Barrier

X50® Skin Barrier utilises a specialised delivery system (drone system) to transport two peptides directly to keratinocytes, which are cells crucial for maintaining the skin's barrier function. These peptides stimulate the production of key proteins like keratin, filaggrin, and loricrin. These proteins play a vital role in forming a strong and resilient skin barrier.

As we age, our skin's ability to produce these proteins decreases, leading to a weakened barrier and increased water loss through the skin. By boosting the synthesis of these proteins, X50® Skin Barrier helps to restore and strengthen the skin's protective barrier. This results in improved hydration levels and better protection against environmental factors such as pollution and UV radiation, which can damage the skin and accelerate ageing. Overall, X50® Skin Barrier supports healthier, more resilient skin by enhancing barrier function and promoting skin renewal.

X50® Myocept Peptide

X50® Myocept Peptide combines a Neuropeptide with a complex of encapsulated Lactic and Glycolic Acids. The Neuropeptide works by inhibiting facial muscle contractions, thereby reducing the appearance of expression lines and wrinkles. Meanwhile, Glycolic and Lactic Acids gently exfoliate the skin, promoting brightness and stimulating collagen production.

The delivery system used ensures that these active ingredients reach their target areas effectively, enhancing their overall effectiveness. By combining these actions, X50® Myocept Peptide aims to provide comprehensive benefits such as plumping, tightening, and smoothing wrinkles for a more youthful and revitalized complexion.

Willow Bark Extract

Willow Bark Extract contains a compound called salicin, which enzymatically converts into salicylic acid (BHA) when applied to the skin. Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) known for its exfoliating properties. It works by penetrating into the pores and exfoliating the dead skin cells and debris that can clog them, thus helping to prevent acne and improve skin texture. Additionally, Willow Bark Extract has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, which further contribute to reducing inflammation, calming the skin, and regulating sebum (oil) production. Overall, it helps to refine the skin's appearance, reduce blemishes, and minimize the appearance of pores.

Kahai Oil

Kahai Oil, also known as Cacay Oil, offers versatile benefits including anti-ageing, nourishment, and protection for the skin. Kahai Oil works through a combination of its rich components: The Vitamins E and A in Kahai Oil act as antioxidants, protecting skin cells from free radical damage and environmental stressors, which helps to prevent premature ageing. Vitamin A (Retinol) supports skin cell renewal and repair, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by promoting the production of new, healthy skin cells. Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids are essential fatty acids that strengthen the skin barrier, improve hydration, and reduce inflammation, leading to healthier, more resilient skin. Together, these components nourish, protect, and rejuvenate the skin, resulting in a smoother, more youthful complexion.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba Oil has a similar oil composition to human sebum (oil) This similarity allows it to replenish the hydro-lipidic film and regulate sebum overproduction, without clogging pores or creating a greasy feel. When applied to the skin, Jojoba Oil can trick the skin into thinking it has produced enough oil, thereby reducing excessive oil production. Additionally, it has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, making it ideal for congested, oily, and blemish-prone skin.

Alpha-Hydroxy Acids

Alpha-Hydroxy Acids are a chemical exfoliant which exfoliate the top layers of the skin, offering a variety of benefits. They are mostly derived from plant-based sources. Some of the most common AHAs are Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Citric Acid and Malic Acid. Depending on the type of AHA, they can reduce dullness, even skin tone, reduce pigmentation, tighten pores, stimulate collagen production, hydrate the skin and offer antioxidant protection. AHAs are generally less irritating and drying to the skin as they are water-soluble.

Physical & Chemical Exfoliation

Physical and chemical exfoliation are two popular techniques for removing dead skin cells and promoting a healthier, more radiant complexion. Each method offers unique benefits and targets skin concerns differently, making them key components in any effective skincare routine. Exfoliation helps to improve skin texture, unclog pores, and enhance the absorption of skincare products, leading to smoother, brighter skin. Physical exfoliation offers immediate results, while chemical exfoliation promotes deeper, longer-lasting effects without the risk of physical irritation. Physical exfoliation involves the use of scrubs, brushes, or cloths with granules that manually slough off dead skin cells from the surface. This method provides instant smoothness but can sometimes cause micro-tears, making it less suitable for sensitive skin types. Chemical exfoliation, on the other hand, employs acids (like AHAs, BHAs) or enzymes to dissolve dead skin cells at a deeper level. This process promotes cell turnover, enhances the skin’s natural renewal process, and helps to reduce the appearance of fine lines, pigmentation, and dullness without abrasive action, making it gentler for sensitive skin. Physical exfoliation delivers a quick, refreshed feel, but those with sensitive skin might find it too abrasive. Chemical exfoliation gradually reveals smoother, brighter skin with regular use, and is generally better suited for those seeking a gentler approach with deeper results. Users often notice improved skin clarity, reduced congestion, and an overall glow. Both exfoliation methods have their place in a skincare routine, offering tailored solutions depending on skin type and needs. By choosing the right type of exfoliation, you can achieve a smoother, more radiant complexion that feels fresh, revitalised, and renewed, enhancing your overall skin health and appearance.
