Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a common skin condition that occurs when excess melanin is produced after inflammation, resulting in dark spots or patches. It often follows acne, eczema or injuries, particularly in those with medium to darker skin tones. PIH is not a true scar but can resemble one due to its lingering discolouration. Skincare for PIH focuses on brightening ingredients like vitamin C, niacinamide and retinoids to reduce pigmentation, while sun protection is essential to prevent spots from darkening. Unlike scars, PIH usually fades over time but can benefit from targeted treatments.

    I was suggested by my dermatologist to use this product especially after summer. Great hydration. Having done needle treatments for acne scarring Iso Placenta is great to restore not only hydration but speeds up regeneration. I personally prefer serums over creams.
