The Benefits

Anti-Pigmentation

Dealing with pigmentation means targeting melanin overproduction to reduce dark spots and prevent new ones. Melanin production can be triggered by UV exposure, pollution, hormonal changes (like during pregnancy), and inflammation (from acne or cuts). This excess pigment is then transferred to surrounding cells in epidermis called keratinocytes, which then moves to the skin's surface, causing visible dark spots.

To treat hyperpigmentation, a personalised and consistent approach is needed. Our anti-pigmentation products include lightening agents to block tyrosinase (the enzyme that creates melanin), antioxidants to fight free radicals, and ingredients to speed up skin cell turnover, removing pigmented cells. Using broad-spectrum sun protection is crucial to prevent new pigmentation during treatment.

Brightening

Brightening your skin means restoring its natural glow. One of the best ways to do this is through exfoliation. By exfoliating, you promote faster skin cell turnover, replacing old, damaged cells with fresh, radiant ones. This keeps your skin looking vibrant and healthy.

Antioxidant

Antioxidant Protection shields your skin and preserves its youthful glow. It refers to a defence system that protects against harmful molecules and keeps your complexion healthy and radiant. Free radicals, those incredibly reactive molecules, come from everyday sources like sunlight, diet, smoking, and pollution. They attack healthy cells, accelerating skin ageing, causing wrinkles, loss of firmness, pigmentation, and dullness.

Incorporating antioxidants, such as vitamins C and E, into your skincare routine creates a protective shield on your skin. These powerful ingredients neutralise free radicals, preventing them from causing damage. The result is skin that stays youthful, firm, and luminous.

Purifying

Purifying your skin means removing impurities, reducing excess oil, and deep cleansing to minimise a greasy or shiny appearance and prevent breakouts. This process leaves your skin clearer, more balanced, and looking fresh.

Detoxifying

Detoxifying means using active ingredients to remove impurities, toxins, and pollutants from your skin. It protects your skin cells from damage caused by free radicals, promoting healthier, clearer, and more balanced skin.

Chemical Exfoliation

Chemical exfoliation uses acids to dissolve the "glue" holding dead skin cells together, promoting skin cell turnover and replacing old cells with new, healthy ones. Acids like AHAs, BHAs, and PHAs not only help shed skin but also offer benefits like brightening, clarifying, and anti-ageing, depending on the type used.

Active Ingredients

Stabilised Vitamin C

Stabilised Vitamin C is an upgraded form of the "Vitamin C" ingredient as it has been formulated so that it cannot oxidise, which would render it ineffective. It is a powerful antioxidant which reduces cell ageing by fighting free-radicals and stimulating collagen synthesis. It is also very adept at moderating melanin production, which effectively limits pigmentation, brightening and lightening the skin.

A-Glucan Detox

A Glucan Detox is a powerful natural ingredient derived from yeast. It works by boosting your skin's ability to eliminate toxins and impurities, promoting a deep detoxification process. This helps to purify your skin from within, leaving it refreshed and rejuvenated. By protecting against environmental stressors and maintaining optimal hydration, A-Glucan Detox restores skin's natural glow and radiance.

Australian Finger Lime

Finger Lime Extract is naturally rich in Alpha Hydroxy Acids who's role is to exfoliate the superficial layers of the epidermis, resulting in a softer, brighter and more even complexion. This ingredient also contains vitamins, amino acids, minerals and antioxidants, which all work in conjunction with each other to support the natural health of the skin.

Dulse Extract

Dulse is a seaweed rich in Xylan's & Galactans, which work to reduce melanogenesis (pigmentation) by reducing the speed at which it can reproduce. The result is that it reduces photo induced pigmentation, creating a brighter complexion, a more even skin tone where age spots are diminished.

Complex of Pea Extract & Sucrose Dilaurate

The Complex of Pea Extract & Sucrose Dilaurate prevents dark marks by inhibiting the expression of PMEL-17 gene, which is involved in melanin (pigment) creation, resulting in a more unified and radiant complexion.

Biomimetic Peptide

Biomimetic Peptide is a compound derived from Thymopoietin, a hormone associated with youth. As we age, our production of this hormone decreases, leading to visible signs of ageing. Biomimetic Peptide mimics the effects of Thymopoietin, physiologically stimulating the regeneration of new, stronger skin similar to that of younger individuals. This results in denser, more resilient skin, reducing the appearance of ageing.

Chromanyl Palmitate-based Synthetic Peptide

Chromanyl Palmitate-based Peptide is a potent lightening active that works by inhibiting tyrosinase activity, a primary enzyme responsible for melanin creation, resulting in reduced pigmentation marks. It also protects the skin cells form UV induced damage, ensuring skin is clearer of pigmentation and unified.

Sea Fern Extract

Sea Fern Extract is a lightening agent that targets the production and distribution of melanin into surrounding cells, helping to fade existing marks and prevent new ones from appearing, resulting in a brighter and more unified complexion.

Sea Lily Extract

Sea Lily is a lightening agent that reduces the activity of melanocyte dendrites that are responsible for melanin transfer to surrounding cells; meaning that it inhibits pigmentation. It also contributes to normalising melanin production, which leads to visible improvement in the size and colour of existing pigmentation marks.

Wasabi Extract

Wasabi has powerful antioxidant and antiseptic properties, helping to protect skin cells from free radical damage and support skin healing.

Plum Pulp Extract

Plum Pulp Extract is a lightening agent working on inhibiting melanogenesis (melanin overproduction) and melanin transfer to surrounding cells; thus inhibiting pigmentation from occurring. It also helps to strengthen the skin barrier and reduce Trans epidermal Water Loss (TEWL).

Anti-ROS and anti-RNS Antioxidant

This targeted antioxidant neutralises Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) and Reactive Nitrogen Species (RNS), which are common free radicals induced by the environment. By doing so, it prevents melanin overproduction and the formation of lipofuscin, a pigment that results from oxidised sebum (oil); thus reducing the amount of pigment produced. Additionally, it detoxifies the skin and slows down cell ageing, allowing your skin to be more rejuvenated.

Complex of Watercress Sprout Extract and Soy-based Pure Genistin

The Complex of Watercress Sprout Extract and Soy-based Pure Genistin targets dark spots by inhibiting melanin and lipofuscin (oxidized sebum) production. It also offers photo-protective properties, preventing premature ageing of skin cells.

Understanding Acne Scarring & Post-Inflammatory Hyperpigmentation (PIH)

Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) is a common skin condition that occurs when excess melanin is produced after inflammation, resulting in dark spots or patches. It often follows acne, eczema or injuries, particularly in those with medium to darker skin tones. PIH is not a true scar but can resemble one due to its lingering discolouration. Skincare for PIH focuses on brightening ingredients like vitamin C, niacinamide and retinoids to reduce pigmentation, while sun protection is essential to prevent spots from darkening. Unlike scars, PIH usually fades over time but can benefit from targeted treatments.
