About the Brand
Brand logo
Founded in 2018 in Modena by Ilenia Gebennini and Alberto Giacobazzi, Darling set out to make sunscreen desirable and effortless. Blending Italian design with skincare-level nourishment and advanced UV protection, the brand delivers high-performance formulas with a seamless, non-greasy finish. This approach turned SPF into a cult-status ritual celebrated worldwide.

We love Darling for reimagining sun protection as skincare. Powered by advanced chemical filters, their formulas glide on seamlessly, leaving a silky texture and a natural, healthy glow that feels like a second skin. These next-generation filters also provide high, stable protection, making Darling not only effective but also beautifully wearable every day. Unlike traditional sunscreens, it delivers protection you’ll actually want to wear.

Darling is powered by next-generation chemical filters, including Uvinul T150, Uvinul A Plus, and Tinosorb S. Cleansing

Cleansing involves using active cleansing agents to penetrate your skin and pores, breaking down and removing daily impurities, pollution particles, excess sebum, and makeup. Thoroughly cleansed skin renews and regenerates itself more effectively and absorbs follow-up products and active ingredients better.

Hydrating

Hydration is all about the water content in your skin that keeps it supple and healthy. Humectants, ingredients with water-binding properties, deliver this hydration by attracting water molecules from the atmosphere. For the best results, apply hydrating serums right after a shower. Humectants not only replenish your skin's hydration but also enhance its water retention, creating a long-lasting hydration reservoir. Adding humectants like hyaluronic acid to your routine will restore your skin's healthy glow, minimize fine lines, and provide a plumping effect.

Soothing

When your skin is sensitive or weakened due to genetics, skin conditions, using incorrect skincare products, or harsh weather, it needs extra care to repair and strengthening. Soothing ingredients with anti-inflammatory properties can reduce redness and irritation while strengthening the skin barrier, making it more resilient and protected against external aggressors.

Supports Microbiome

Supporting your skin’s microbiome means maintaining a balanced ecosystem of beneficial microorganisms that live on its surface, particularly across the body. This invisible layer acts as a first line of defense, working alongside your skin barrier to keep it resilient and healthy. A balanced microbiome helps regulate pH levels, fend off harmful bacteria, reduce inflammation, and strengthen immune responses in the skin. Factors such as harsh cleansers, frequent shaving, hot showers, pollution, and certain body treatments can disrupt this balance, reducing microbial diversity and leading to dryness, sensitivity, breakouts, or flare-ups of conditions like eczema.

By supporting the microbiome with prebiotics, probiotics, and postbiotics, as well as gentle, pH-friendly formulations, you help preserve this natural shield. A healthy microbiome keeps your skin better hydrated, less reactive, and more capable of repairing itself, leaving it smoother, stronger, and visibly balanced.

Skin Barrier Strengthening

Strengthening your skin barrier involves replenishing the key elements in the top layer of your skin (stratum corneum), leading to a stronger and healthier barrier. These essential elements include lipids (ceramides, fatty acids, and cholesterol) and Natural Moisturizing Factors (amino acids, hyaluronic acid, etc.). Various factors, such as incorrect skincare use, seasonal changes, and aesthetic treatments, can damage your skin barrier. When this happens, your skin loses excess water through Trans Epidermal Water Loss (T.E.W.L) and becomes less capable of defending against environmental stressors, resulting in dryness, sensitivity, and irritation.\n\nA healthy skin barrier is crucial for overall skin health as it helps prevent hydration loss, protects against environmental damage, and reduces the risk of skin conditions like eczema and acne. By strengthening your skin barrier, you ensure your skin remains well-hydrated, resilient, and protected.

Chemical Exfoliation

Chemical exfoliation uses acids to dissolve the "glue" holding dead skin cells together, promoting skin cell turnover and replacing old cells with new, healthy ones. Acids like AHAs, BHAs, and PHAs not only help shed skin but also offer benefits like brightening, clarifying, and anti-ageing, depending on the type used.

Brightening

Brightening your skin means restoring its natural glow. One of the best ways to do this is through exfoliation. By exfoliating, you promote faster skin cell turnover, replacing old, damaged cells with fresh, radiant ones. This keeps your skin looking vibrant and healthy.

  • - + Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5)

Aloe Leaf Juice

Aloe Leaf Juice has a long history of use for its calming, anti-inflammatory, and moisturising effects on the skin. Its versatility makes it suitable for all skin types, especially beneficial for dehydrated, weakened, and sensitive skin.

Saccharide Isomerate (PENTAVITIN)

Saccharide Isomerate, also known as PentavitinÆ, is a carbohydrate complex derived from plants that closely resembles those found in human skin. It serves multiple functions in skincare: first, it acts as a prebiotic, supporting a healthy balance of microorganisms on the skin's surface, which is crucial for maintaining skin health.

Secondly, Saccharide Isomerate functions as a powerful humectant. This means it attracts moisture from the environment and binds it to the skin, acting like a "water magnet." This ability helps to deeply hydrate the skin, making it appear plump, smooth, and intensely moisturised.

Studies have shown that Saccharide Isomerate can increase skin hydration levels for up to 72 hours after application, making it an effective ingredient for providing long-lasting hydration and maintaining skin moisture balance.

LACTOCOCCUS FERMENT LYSATE (PROBIOTIC)

Fermented Lactococcus Ferment Lysate is derived from the fermentation of the Lactococcus Lactis bacteria. This process releases natural sugars that serve as probiotics on the skin, enhancing the balance of the skin microbiome. It promotes the growth of beneficial microorganisms while safeguarding against harmful bacteria. In addition to supporting the microbiome, it functions as a natural preservative and skin softener.

Panthenol (Pro-Vitamin B5)

Panthenol, also known as Pro-vitamin B5, is a potent humectant renowned for its exceptional hydrating, repairing, and soothing qualities. When applied to the skin, Panthenol converts to Coenzyme A, an enzyme crucial for skin regeneration. Its versatile benefits and compatibility with all skin types make Panthenol a preferred choice for replenishing and fortifying dehydrated and compromised skin.

Hydrolyzed Lactic Acid

A gentle, skin-renewing alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), Hydrolyzed Lactic Acid helps to accelerate cellular turnover and improve overall skin texture. By loosening the bonds between dead skin cells on the epidermis, it encourages their natural shedding, revealing fresher, smoother skin underneath. Known for its hydrating properties, this form of lactic acid also supports the skin’s natural moisture factor, helping to maintain suppleness while promoting a brighter, more even tone. Ideal for dull, congested, or rough-textured skin, it delivers resurfacing benefits with minimal irritation.

Pyrus Malus Fruit Extract

Pyrus Malus Fruit Extract is an apple fruit extract, which is rich in vitamins, antioxidants and natural acids. A natural ingredient which improves hydration and antioxidant levels, as well as brightens, soothes and restores elasticity to the skin.

Chamomile Extract

Chamomile extract, derived from Matricaria chamomilla flowers, is rich in flavonoids, terpenoids, and essential oils that provide potent anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and soothing benefits. It reduces redness and irritation by inhibiting pro-inflammatory mediators, while its antioxidant properties protect the skin from oxidative stress and prevent premature aging. The extract also helps hydrate and nourish the skin, improving texture and resilience.
