In the 17th and 18th centuries, Cire Trudon reigned as the preeminent wax producer in the French Kingdom.

Its unparalleled craftsmanship was immortalized in 1762 by engineer Duhamel du Monceau, who extolled its expertise in The Art of the Wax Producer. This dedication to perfection earned Charles Trudon the noble title of Count Trudon des Ormes, bestowed by King Louis XIV himself.
