Established in 1643, this prestigious Maison, headquartered at 78 rue de Seine in the heart of Paris’ iconic 6th arrondissement, earned its place as the official candle provider to the royal court of Louis XIV, the illustrious Sun King, and the grand cathedrals of France. In the 17th and 18th centuries, Cire Trudon reigned as the preeminent wax producer in the French Kingdom.

Its unparalleled craftsmanship was immortalized in 1762 by engineer Duhamel du Monceau, who extolled its expertise in The Art of the Wax Producer. This dedication to perfection earned Charles Trudon the noble title of Count Trudon des Ormes, bestowed by King Louis XIV himself. The brand meticulously preserves its historical recipes and tools, including 17th-century wrought iron pans and mold's used to craft candles emblazoned with royal insignias—an homage to its illustrious legacy of illuminating Versailles and the Royal Chapel.
